In connection with the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Mr. Dmitry Medvedev to Norway on April 26-27 the Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce (NRCC) in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation organised Norwegian-Russian Business Conference in Oslo.The Conference took place at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Oslo on April 26.
More than 350 representatives of Norwegian and Russian business, as well as Norwegian and Russian authorities took part in the event. The conference received broad coverage in Norwegian and Russian mass media.
President of the NRCC Mr Thomas G. Michelet and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Mr Ivan Gorelovsky chaired the Plenary Session I and Plenary Session II. The Plenary Session of the Conference was opened by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mr Viktor Zubkov and Minister of Trade and Industry of Norway Mr Trond Giske.
During the plenary session there were given two presentations:
- Norwegian-Russian
Scientific Research Cooperation, by Mr. Vladimir Pavlenko,
Director of Arctic Research Centre of RAS,
Deputy Director of Oil-and-Gas Research Institute of RAS
- Research Expands Frontiers, by Mr. Arvid Hallen, Director General, Research Council of Norway
During the Conference the business representatives of the two countries had a possibility to discuss important issues in the bilateral cooperation on specialized parallel sessions, namely (click on the session name to read more and download presentations):

- Oil & Gas Development in Harsh Environment;
- Diversifying the Bilateral Business Cooperation;
