This year's last NRCC Networking Event in St. Petersburg was held at the faciliites of Reval Hotel Sonya in St. Petersburg on the 8th of December. Approximately 60 people participated at the meeting; representatives of the Russian and Norwegian industry, authorities and organizations.
The participants of the meeting was welcomed by the Director of Operations of Reval Hotel Sonya Mr Torbjoern Lofaldli and NRCC Managing Director Mr Jarle Forbord. First speaker, Professor Yury Nurulin, Director of the City Coordinative Centre on Innovation Activity in Science and Education of St. Petersburg, presented the Innovation Stragegy of the St. Petersburg Government. Next speaker, Mr Oleg Ryndin, Head of the Branch Office of Joint Stock Company “Special Economic Zones” in St. Petersburg, presented the status of the Special Economic Zones in St. Petersburg and invited Norwegian companies to enjoy the advantages offered for foreign investors.
Further, Consul General of Norway in St. Petersburg, Mr Rune Aasheim
gave an update on Norwegian-Russian Trade and Norwegian Establishments in his consular district (the North-West Russia: St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Pskov and Karelia).
Finally, Director of Sales of Reval Hotel Sonya, Mrs Victoria Kondratieva, presented Reval Hotel Sonya and the chain of Reval Hotels. The new hotel Reval Hotel Sonya which opened in October 2009, is a design hotel inspired by Dostoevsky's most known work "Crime and Punishment", she told the audience, and the design is going through all the elements of the hotel, from the restaurant facilities to the interior of the rooms.
This is a completely new product on the market which guests never have tried before, added Director of Operations Torbjoern Lofaldli.
At the end of the meeting, Managing Director of the NRCC Mr Jarle Forbord informed the participants about the three new NRCC Honorary Members (see previously published news) and the plan for NRCC activities in the first half of 2010. After the meeting, everybody was invited to a refreshments and networking session. The participants were also offered a guided tour in the hotel facilities.
