Russian investments abroad

From being a sole recipient of investments, Russia has become one of the largest investors among the countries with the emerging markets. In the 1 Q 2007 Russian investments increased by 16,6% compared to the same period in 2006, and reached USD 11,8 bn, reports the State Statistics Service.

Most of Russian investments went to the USA, Austria, Germany, Great Britain and Cyprus.

Did you know…
Russian companies invested abroad about USD 52bn in 2006, almost 70% more than in 2005. Quite a few of these are acquisitions of businesses.
