The Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established by Norwegian and Russian business circles in Oslo on 20 October 2003. Members include major Norwegian and Russian companies such as Statoil, Jotun, DNV GL, Lukoil Overseas North Shelf, RN Nordic Oil as well as central business organizations such as the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), GIEK, Innovation Norway, universities and SMEs. Russian companies are also members of Board of Directors of the NRCC. The working language of the Chamber is English, which is used both for official correspondance and networking meetings.
Since the establishment of the association, NRCC has developed close cooperation with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, centrally as well as in regional Russia. The CCIs of Russia have about 170 regional offices and more than 50 000 members. Our outreach to Russian companies in the Russian market is thus extraordinary and quite unique.
NRCC is an NGO mainly financed by various types of membership. In 2017, the NRCC signed a new three-year Program Agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway with the aim of strengthening business relations between Norway and Russia.

The NRCC is the leading Norwegian-Russian Business Network.

Aim

The aim of the NRCC is to stimulate and improve business relations between Norwegian and Russian companies regarding import, export, shipping, business development, tourism or investment activities. In addition, the Chamber aims to enhance the understanding of each others' business culture, market developments and other socio-economic developments of importance.

Members

As of today, the Chamber has about 130 members representing various sectors. It is a pleasure for us to see a growing interest from Russian companies joining the Chamber. A list of the NRCC Members can be found under "Members". The expanded list is only available for the NRCC Members.

Management

Both the NRCC Board and the NRCC Administration consist of people with vast experience from Norwegian-Russian trade relations. More information can be found under "About NRCC Employees", "About NRCC Board" and "About NRCC Council".

Activities

The Chamber presently offers regular networking events, newsletters, seminars, courses, business delegations, as well as social, cultural and various ad-hoc arrangements. More information can be found under "Events".

Trine Merete Kvernmo

Senior Adviser - Office for International Relations and Research Support, University of Oslo

Trine Merete Kvernmo has 20 years experience in international cooperation in higher education and research from the University of Oslo (UiO), both at faculty and central level. Further, she has experience in research administration and project management. One of her main responsibilities is monitoring the UiO cooperation with Russia.

Since 2014, she has been administrative coordinator for the UiO interdisciplinary Arctic initiative and the UiO Arctic Committee.

Trine Merete Kvernmo is cand. philol. from the University of Oslo.

 

Marit Hiim Haugseth

Project Manager - Norwegian Fishermen's Association

Marit Hiim Haugseth  started at her position at the Norwegian Fishermen's Association in August 2016.

Marit Hiim Haugseth works with cooperation with Russian fishing organizations in Murmansk. 

Before joining the Norwegian Fishermen's Association, Marit worked as a municipal manager and office manager at the municipality of Sør-Varanger. There she was  responsible for all international cooperation.

The main purpose of the association is to develop cooperation and dialogue between the industries on both sides of the border.

Mrs Haugseth holds Master in Russian Studies.

 

Frode Mo

Country Director, Innovation Norway Russia

Frode MO 1Since 2015 Frode Mo is a Innovation Norway's Country Director for Russia. He is a Trade counsellor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Moscow. His main experience comes from transport and engineering sectors, where he worked for more than 20 years. He has also worked in both the private and public sectors. 

Frode came to Innovation Norway from Ramboll Middle East in Qatar, where he was a Project Director for Ramboll's design verification engineer team related to the Green line metro project in Doha.

He learned Russian in the early 1980s, and has visited the former Soviet Union and Russia regularly since then.

Mr. Mo holds a MSc degree in Computational Science from the University of Oslo, as well as an MBA from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), Bergen.

Mr. Christian Nerland

Senior Vise President, Oil & Gas, Multiconsult AS

Herland colorMr. Christian Nerland has 20+ years varied experience from the oil & gas and infrastructure industries and has increasingly taken on managerial roles. He is currently heading up Business Area Oil and Gas in Multiconsult and holds a position as Senior Vice President in the company.  

Having spent 10+ years in different countries outside of Norway, Mr Nerland has gained hands-on international experience from different types of oil and gas related disciplines including, but not limited to risk management, technical-economical decision support, engineering and integrity management.

During the last 10 – 15 years, Multiconsult has developed oil and gas business in Russia and also maintains a business entity registered in Russia, St. Petersburg. As a result, trustful relations with Russian design companies have been established and major contracts been awarded over the years. Mr. Nerland has been involved in varies aspects of Russian projects such as Sakhalin II and Kovykta Gas Condensate Field.

Mr. Nerland graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim in 1996 (MSc, Structural Engineering) and also holds and MBA in Strategic Management from NHH Norwegian School of Economics (2005).

Before joining Multiconsult in 2016, Mr. Nerland held the position as Managing Director at Axess North America Inc., heading up their operations in the USA and Canada. Prior to that, he served as a Director at DNV GL in various locations and functions.

 

Asbjørn Solevågseide

Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Optimar AS

Mr. Solevågseide is one of the founders of Optimar AS and he has been the CEO of the company until last year when he became the Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing. 

Asbjørn Solevågseide has an extensive experience in co-operation with Russian fishing companies based on his engagement in delivery of fish factories to Russian customers since 1990’s. He was heavily involved in the big series of vessels, which was built in Western Europe for USSR both in Norway, Germany and Spain, where more than 60 vessels were delivered in total. After being responsible for building and installing the factories of these vessels, he became one of the top managers in Kværner Fish Process Technology. In 1996, he started a consultant company named Seatech, which later was merged into today’s Optimar AS.

Mr. Solevågseide has graduated from NTNU, Aalesund in 1983. 

 

Mr. Hans Ove Holmøy

Managing Director, Skipsteknisk AS

Hans Ove Holmy colorSince 1996 Hans Ove Holmøy is a Skipsteknisk's Managing Director. 

Skipsteknisk AS designs specialized vessels with emphasis on offshore research and fisheries. ST Group consists also of electrical service company Skan-El AS and branch offices in Turkey and China.

For the last 12 years Mr. Hans Ove Holmøy is directly involved in Skipsteknisk's work with the Russian fishing industry.

He speaks Norwegian, English and basic German. 

Mr. Holmøy holds a B.Sc degree from the Møre og Romsdal Technical College of Naval Architecture, Norway. 

Mr. Felix H. Tschudi

The Chairman of the Board and Owner of Tschudi Shipping Company

Felix H. Tschudi is the Chairman and owner of the Tschudi Group.

 

Mr. Tschudi attended the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy and served as Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Norwegian Navy. He earned a Second Mate’s certificate from merchant navy colleges in the UK, a BSc (Econ) from London School of Economics and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Before joining the family shipping company, Tschudi & Eitzen, in 1989, Felix worked for the Vienna-based trading and finance house AWT specialising in trade finance with Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.

Felix H. Tschudi is the Chairman of the Centre for High North Logistics and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Arctic, the Committee of the P&I Club Skuld, on the Board of the Norwegian publishing house Aschehoug & Co, former Chairman of the Board of Maritimt Forum Oslofjord and a former President of the Oslo Shipowners' Association.
